How Yoga Heals

Yoga & Life

how yoga heals

Hello Lovely,

The first time I walked into a yoga studio, I was thinking that I was going for exercise.

But after that first class, I realized it was something way bigger than that.

While I struggled through the first class, and spent the majority of the class, sitting on my mat, grasping for breath, I left feeling lighter.

I wasn’t entirely sure what had happened, but I knew I wanted more.
Over the years of practicing yoga, it has carried me through an identity crisis, the pandemic (and all that that kicked up ), and a nearly 3 year long divorce, that I am still recovering from.

Yoga has shifted with me, as my life shifted.

Because yoga is life.

Yoga meets you right where you are at, and lifts you back up to where you want to be.

It gives spaciousness where we feel tight and closed off.

It shows us how breathing can be the thread that keeps us alive, when we question our ability to carry on.

It teaches us how to stay, when we want to run away and scream.

It acts as our perfect mirror, so we can grow our self awareness, self love, and self mastery.

It brings our darkness into the light.

Yoga is a tool that encourages acceptance so that we can respond to life from a more grounded, calm place.

In a desire to share the love and healing that I have found with yoga, I am now offering a new level of private yoga sessions.

For the first 5 minutes of each class together, I do a quick check in so that I can custom build a flow to match the kind of emotional, mental, and physical support you currently need.

We would also create an ongoing plan to help you reach your physical goals with yoga–whether they be more muscle strength, more endurance, or more flexibility/opening.

And as always, I infuse energetic life coaching into each session.

Finding Power In Pain

When Yoga Becomes Life

Finding power in the pain

Hello, Lovely,
Finding power in pain is a topic that I feel is very relevant for a lot of women right now.

For years, whenever I thought of warrior 2 pose, there were 2 things that immediately would come to mind–burning thigh muscles, and aching shoulders. Clearly, this is not very empowering!

Recently, I found a new life perspective that has been giving me something empowering to think on, while I still feel the burning thigh muscles and aching shoulders!

Warrior 2 pose is your physical body connecting the past (with the arm behind you), and the future (with the arm in front of you), with your body in the present (middle) between the two.

I cannot think of many things that I can do that connect the past, present, and future so powerfully. The front hand literally points you in the direction of where you are going. It gives you clear focus. Looking on the front middle finger really helps with repeating your daily mantra or intention.

The connection of all three–past, present, and future–really pulls the whole journey together. You would not be where you are now without your past experience, but your focus is on what you want, while also being still with what is right now.

Bringing this energy into the warrior 2 pose really helps with finding power in the pain.

How Yoga Helps With Stress

Going Behind the Show

how yoga helps with stress

Hello, Lovely,
When I first started practicing yoga, I was in it for the physical, exercise aspect. I was healing my body and knew I needed to add exercise to my life, so I decided to try yoga. It didn’t take long before I saw how yoga is much deeper than just the physical aspect. I started to FEEL how yoga helps with stress.

Yoga is truly an inside job and “all the rest is a show.”

It isn’t about what your body looks like in the pose, or how “well” you are “doing” it, it is about how it feels INSIDE your body and what is going on INSIDE your mind.

Yoga purposefully places you in physically uncomfortable poses to trigger exactly how you react when life puts you in an uncomfortable (stressful) situation.

You get a front-row seat to all the negative self talk, limiting beliefs and stories, and all the places you want to “give up”. From here, you have a choice…find and focus on what you actually, truly want, OR keep feeding all the negative, disempowering junk. I really focus on this aspect in my yoga classes by giving simple and clear direction to walk you through the process of finding and feeling what you truly need and want.

Yoga offers breath as a tool to help bridge the gap between where you currently are with your internal battles, and where you wish you were with self mastery. This gives you something to focus on that is very obvious and also triggers a biological response that will help calm you.

Yoga offers a feeling of new-found strength and confidence as another added benefit to keep motivating you to keep moving forward with self love and self empowerment.

It is an added side effect that your body will become stronger and more flexible, which creates a feeling of spaciousness in your body. And once you feel that space, you will feel free.

A wise yoga master of mine once said, “The quickest way to change is through the physical body”, and that is exactly what yoga does.

Yoga uses the vehicle of the physical body to help with internal responses to stress, so the result is that you will approach all of your life in a new way.

Yoga is life.

I hope this opened your mind to seeing how yoga helps with stress in a really powerful way.

And I invite you to clink on the link below to read more about my journey with yoga, and to join my classes.

Sincerely Yours,
Suze

What Can Yoga Do for Me?

Yoga Changed My Life

What Yoga Can Do For Me

Hello, Lovely,
Have you ever asked yourself, “What can yoga do for me?” In the years that I have been practicing and teaching yoga, I have seen that yoga is often viewed as a physical activity, when my experience has shown me that is goes way deeper than just the body. Yoga has shown how to deal with stress better, feel more calm and clear, and empowered me to be more confident in my life.

I practice yoga because yoga changed my life.

Yoga showed me how to focus.

Yoga showed me how to remain calm in the midst of chaos.

Yoga showed me to see beyond the discomfort to open up to possibility of ease in while in discomfort.

Yoga showed me how to listen to my inner guidance.

Yoga showed me how to take care of myself.

Yoga showed me how to feel strong.

Yoga showed me how to feel free and expansive.

Yoga showed me how to open up to receive.

Yoga showed me how to be vulnerable.

Yoga showed me how to let go, even when in discomfort.

Yoga showed me how to love myself and celebrate my body.

Yoga showed me how to throw away old limiting stories that I was telling myself.

Yoga showed me that I am limitless when I align with my Truth.

Yoga showed me how to trust myself.

Yoga showed me how to flow.

Yoga showed me how to see, to be, to surrender, to receive, to Love.

Yoga brings the real you out. It gently removes the self doubt, negative self talk, and people-pleasing, to empower you to radiate confidence, clarity, and strength. To learn more about my yoga practice and my yoga classes, click the link below to go to my yoga page.
