What Is Self Love?

The Needs & Desires of the Heart

what is self love

Hello Lovely,
I am asking the question “What is Self Love?” today because I see confusion and mis-information among women around self love and self care.

Self love and self care are not one and the same.

Self love is not taking a bath with rose petals, buying yourself flowers, or getting your nails done.

That’s self care.

Self care supports and emboldens self love, but it is not the same.

Self care is usually very outwardly and obvious. Someone watching you can see all the things you are doing for yourself.

Self care makes you feel good, feel important, feel cared for.

Self love, more often than not, is very subtle. It is often very inward.

Self love is choosing your raw, real Truth, in every moment, no matter what.

Self love is having very honest and vulnerable conversations with yourself.

Self love is learning how to love being with yourself.

Self love is making the choice, over and over again, to stop looking outside yourself at what’s “wrong” and choosing to work on yourself, instead.

Self love is pulling your energy away from what you don’t like, and putting it back into what you want to see more of.

Self love is creating boundaries and having the backbone to uphold them, unapologetically.

Self love is prioritizing healing and calm.

Self love is validating yourself instead of shaming or minimizing your experience.

Self love is going into your darkness, to bring yourself back into the light.

Self love is self parenting.

Self love is self soothing and self tenderness.

Self love is radical self acceptance.

These are things that are not necessarily seen with human eyes.

Self love is an inside job.

Self love is a moment by moment intimacy with yourself.

Self love is a moment by moment creation of a life that feels aligned, meaningful, satisfying, and calm.

Self love becomes really simple once you allow yourself to feel and start identifying with energies, instead of thinking your way through everything. (overthinking is so heavy and exhausting!)

It’s living life by feeling from your heart, instead of thinking with your head.

Living a life that you love is not through doing all the things that you “should” or are “supposed to do” or that “make sense”.

A life that you love is found through self love.

Letting Go into my Feminine Flow

Feel Light & Free

Letting go into my feminine flow

Hello, Lovely,
In my experience in working with women (and in my own life experience), letting go into your feminine flow sometimes feels a little awkward at first. We live in a world that still largely promotes the masculine way of doing things, and so learning a new way of being is a moment-by-moment creational process. These 3 steps to lean into your feminine energy will help simplify things a bit for you.

  1. Slow down. Many of us on this journey find that we often feel rushed, frantic, or desperate in our lives. We are frequently running around, “trying to make things happen.” I often hear women saying “I don’t have enough time”, or “I don’t have time for that.” The fact of the matter is that you get to CHOOSE where you are spending your time. Notice when you are frantically reacting to life, and instead, CHOOSE to calmly create the reality you actually want. When you slow down, it gives you a chance to see more options and choose the higher path.  Reaction is instantaneous, but creation is gradual. The payoff is that you will begin to see how much better creation feels. You will be getting into action from a place of inspiration, instead of desperation. Living your life in this way brings more impactful results, with less effort.
  2. Consistently create space.  Being in your feminine flow means you are open to receive, which means you also have to let go, so that you don’t get overwhelmed. Creating space is a choice that you make for you. It is choosing to take breaks in your day to just let go and breathe, or having a morning routine that sets you up for success in your day, or prioritizing daily self care practices that make you feel loved. A large part of self love for a feminine is letting go of people pleasing/expectations and taking the time to stop and support yourself.  The more you become conscious of creating space for yourself, the more free you will feel. Remember this: Spaciousness=freedom.
  3. Get out of your head and into your body. As a woman, your body is incredible at communicating with you. But if you are stuck in your head with overthinking, you will not be able to hear what your body wants to tell you. Start to notice that when you are overthinking, you feel confused, heavy, and chaotic inside. Choose to start listening to the signs that you body is showing–when you feel shut down, and when you feel open and soft. How do you feel after being with specific people? Are there times of the day when you feel the most awake and alive, and other times when you feel tired and worn down? The more curious you become as to what your body wants to show you, the more opportunities you will see for shifting into a lifestyle that feels more gentle, loving, and supportive.  The more you get out of your head, the lighter your life will feel.

Letting go into your feminine flow is a beautiful thing that can lead you to feeling really, really good in all aspects of your life. It can empower you to show up in a really powerful way and it can magnetize all your heart’s desires into your life with ease.

I hope you choose You and your divine feminine flow.

Sincerely Yours,
Suze
